Q: Which country was the first to put the PFT into commercial production?
A: The earliest to apply the PFT into automotive industry and to achive SOP is German VW.

Q: Which enterprise is the first to introduce the production technology of the PFT into China?
A£ºYangzhou Second Plastic Plant, YAPP predecessor, introduced the production technology of the PFT first into China. At that time, it produced Santanna PFT for SVW by introducing a complete set of blow-molding machine, post-processing equipment for tank body and raw material from West Germany.

Q: Compared with metal FT, which advantages do the PFT have?
A:  1¡¢PFTs are lighter.
     2¡¢Much safer in that they will not explode under thermal expansion and can keep mechanical performance in between - 40oC-90oC.
¡¡ 3¡¢ Work well in anti-erosion by which no impurity can enter into the engine through the fuel system, so that the engine will not be damaged and its lifespan will be lengthened.
¡¡ 4¡¢Excellent impact-resistant performance.
¡¡ 5¡¢The lifespan is long.
¡¡ 6¡¢PFTs can maximize the utility of automotive space.They can be free modeling upon the demands of auto makers.
¡¡ 7¡¢Simple and convenient molding. Any complicated modeling can be shaped only for one time.

Q: Can the PFTs satisfy the environmental protection request for nowadays and the future?
A: Automobile discharge is one of the major pollutant sources. It is the most important index in environmental protection how to effectively control permeation amount of fuel. For example, E I requires FT permeation amount lighter than 20g every day, E II requires lighter than 2g every day, and E III requires lighter than 0.2 g every day.

At present, our country pursues E II.

In order to meet the environmental protection requirement, in the production of FT the following technology is adopted:
¡úFTs are treated with sulfur and fluorine, by which an layer created by chemical reaction on the surface of the FT to isolate fuel.(Chemical method ).
¡úThe technique of multi -layer coextrusion is to extrude EVOH layer which obstructs permeation of fuel and PE layer at the same time to blowmold the multilayer products. (physical method )
¡úNowadays, these two technology methods are main production processes of PFTs, and both can meet the requirements of EI and E II.
